We are excited to share an incredible wedding with you. This is Amber & Chad and they got married on 2/20/2010. A special thanks to Swensen Photography for providing their amazing images from this wedding. We are thrilled to share Amber & Chad’s wedding with you.
Chad & Amber met at Amber’s employment where she worked as a loan officer and Chad came in to open an account for a new business that he started. Amber was intrigued by Chad because his new business was taxidermy and Amber’s Dad had done that since she was just a little girl. Chad came in often & always said hi but never got up the nerve to ask her out. After three months of saying “hi” Chad finally asked her out. They obviously hit it off.
The Proposal: Chad purchased a bunch of roses, Amber’s favorite flowers. When she opened the front door there was a trail of rose petals to her room. Chad had put rose petals all over the floor and on her bed with twelve long stem roses surrounding a wedding ring in the middle of her bed. Then he had four dozen roses in vases all over the room. He was standing in the corner of the room waiting for her, when Amber walked in she knew what was going on and Chad told her that he loved her and wanted to marry her. Of course Amber said “YES!”
About the couple: Chad and Amber have a lot of fun together. They love to watch movies- All movies. When they go to the theater they always get a large popcorn and a large Coke Zero (got to be healthy-LOL) they share. Amber introduced Chad to one of her favorites, playdough icecream, and now they both love it. They enjoy fishing, camping, basically anything outdoors. They don’t listen to a lot of music, they would much rather chat while driving. We like to ask our couples what they like most about each other & this is what they said:
Amber said, “Chad lets me be me, he has never talked down to me or questioned why I do something a certain way, I can be myself and I know he loves me for it. He treats me like an angel and is very committed to our relationship. He really is perfect to me with all his flaws.”
Chad said, “I love how she is very committed to things, she takes the steps to complete what she wants and is unwavering in achieving it. She knows what she wants in life and doesn’t compromise anything in getting it. I love her laugh and the little things she does that are quirky to her, but love her for it.”
Honeymoon: Chad & Amber went to Island Park and stayed in a three bedroom cabin at Phillips Lodge. I am sure it was absolutely beautiful.
Wedding colors: They were black and ivory accented with crystals
Here are some of the vendors they used to make their wedding a success:
Location for wedding & reception: The Atrium at Western Gardens
Photographer: Justin with Swensen Photography Amber said “I would tell my friends to get in line to book a date. I had so much fun working with them and the photos turned out wonderful. They looked very professional.”
Hair: Amber Bills with Taylor D’Shaw Salon Amber said “Amber did my hair for the Bridals and the wedding day. My suggestion would be to bring in a picture of what you want, plan a trial run with your stylist since the day of will be too late if you don’t like it and give yourself plenty of time to work on it, especially if you have longer hair. Have fun with it, it is your day to look like a princess.”
Wedding Cake: Amber & Chad love cheesecake so they decided to forgo the traditional cake & have cheesecake. Amber found a picture of the cake she wanted in a bridal magazine & she had it recreated for her. The Atrium wedding coordinator handled all the details for Amber.
She also got her dress at Fantasy Bridal. Amber knew just what she wanted, she brought in a image of what she wanted and found it in the second fitting. Margo at Fantasy Bridal was very helpful & they were fast & timely.
Amber & Chad had their wedding catered with Utah Food Services and they did a great job as well. The food was delicious. They had chicken cordon bleu, mashed potatoes and veggies with this really yummy salad that was plated in crusted cheese. They had amazing hors d’oeuvres. Amber said that if her dress allowed for more food she would have had seconds.
Advice from the Bride: “One, have fun with it, enjoy the process, two make it your wedding and no one else’s, this is your day, three involve your new family in the girly stuff like Bridals and showers they will appreciate it so much, start early and don’t forget about the little details, and last take a weekend and forget about the wedding and go have fun with your future husband, it will do you both some good.”
