TJ and Alex chose the elegance of La Caille Restaurant as the location for their beautiful wedding. Situated on a working French estate, guests were treated to dinner and dancing in a green-house influenced building called The Pavilion.

How They Met

Alex moved into a house up by the University of Utah. TJ was her neighbor.

The Engagement

As a Franklin Covey Client Partner in San Diego, TJ and Alex maintained a long-distance relationship. After a weekend visit, TJ dropped Alex off at the airport, then jumped a plane to Salt Lake with an earlier arrival time than Alex’s. When she got of the plane at 1:00 a.m. in the morning, TJ surprised her and proposed to her at the gate!

The Wedding

TJ and Alex were married in the afternoon at the Salt Lake Temple. They chose an afternoon ceremony in order to not feel rushed on the morning of the wedding.

Later that evening, 200 of their closest family and friends enjoyed dinner and dancing at La Caille. They and chose to only have family as bridesmaids & groomsmen, in order to not exclude any friends from being selected. Their wedding style was classy & clean, using black and green as their colors. The music of Michael Buble and other wedding “standards” filled the Pavilion adorned with green foliage and mini white lights. Small lamps covered with fresh flower lampshades adorned the tables. The chicken dance was not allowed!

The Food

Guests dined on chicken and steak entrees and a choice of two different salads. They followed with a dessert of scones, served with custard and fresh fruit. The dessert was a total hit with the guests.

A Personal Touch

Instead of having a guest sign-in book, TJ’s friends passed around a video camera. Guests were invited to record their introductions and personal advice for the couple. When the scheduled time came around for introductions, the couple played the tape instead.

The Wedding Dresses

Alex opted to have two wedding dresses - one for the ceremony and one for the dinner. Both were provided by The Perfect Dress. Her wedding dress was by Sottero Midgley - a dark ivory/gold laced gown with a wrapped waist made of satin.

Alex’s party dress was by Casablanca, a shorter wedding dress that was less formal and perfect for dancing.

The Wedding Cake

The white wedding cake was a clean minimal design, adorned with geometric shapes and dots arranged to create a repeating flower motif.
