“What a perfect day”

… were the words of Heather Gilbert about her beautiful August wedding. Jess and Heather’s wedding ceremony was held at the Salt Lake Temple with the reception at Memorial House at Memory Grove Park.

How they met - High School Friends

Jess and Heather’s relationship developed throughout high school. They developed a strong friendship. They had many of the same friends. Jess asked Heather to their Senior Prom, but they remained just friends through High School. Once Jess returned home from serving a LDS mission in Washington DC, he left to attend BYU Idaho while Heather was busy studying at Weber State.

Much to Heather’s surprise Jess moved home from college. They began hanging out as friends and they relationship began to blossom into a timeless courtship.

The Proposal - Much to her surprise!

This is how to describe their proposal. Jess and Heather were throwing a surprise party for his mom. Heather never imagined she had a surprise in store for her that night. At the end of the party Jess rushed Heather into his room. He knelt down and asked her to marry him. After Heather excitedly answered, “Yes”… Heather and Jess gave his mom another surprise to remember.

The Wedding - A beautiful August afternoon

This day will go down in the history books as a day to remember. It was a beautiful August day. The bride and groom were married at the Salt Lake City Temple. Heather looked very timeless and classy in an ivory, dropped waist, with pick-ups around the skirt, and a v neckline.

The Wedding Reception - Fun, yet classy

Their reception was held at the Memorial House at Memory Grove Park in Salt Lake City. Heather and Jess wanted their reception to be fun, but classy at the same time. They wanted to have their guest feel welcome as they celebrated together. Every detail helped accomplish their dream wedding.

The wedding was personalized to Heather and Jess in every detail. Seemingly endless arrays of lime green, black, red, and orange colors were displayed to feel the energy of the theme. They loved how open and warming the Memorial House felt.

Their guest enjoyed Cold Stone Creamery as their choice dessert. Heather describes having Cold Stone catering their event “as a hit!”Every one enjoyed it. Having the ice cream as an option for their guest went well with their celebration. She said, “The colors and dessert made our wedding very unique.”

Le Croissant did a spectacular job as they catered the reception with delicious food for everyone to enjoy. Their menu consisted of chicken skewers, spinach mandarin salad, and fruit water.

Heather describes her wedding saying, “The entire day was perfect!”
