Photography by: Jonathan Canlas Photography

Angela Hatch and Brian Hays met doing what they loved to do – rock climbing. Sparks ignited when they went on the hike of their lifetime. Brian got his nerves up to ask Angela to go out to get Mexican food after the hike. The beginning of a love story began to unfold.

The Proposal – Simple and Sweet

Angela and Brian where working together in Alaska as Park Rangers. Brian shocked Angela by coming into their backcountry office, and simply asked her to marry him right then and there. Angela recalled, “It flat out shocked me!”

The Wedding – St. George, Utah Temple

The bride and groom were married in the St. George Temple on a beautiful fall day. Angela looked amazing in her elegant, cream colored dress, lined with buttons down the back. Their wedding was very intimate with their closest family and friends.

The Wedding Reception – Staheli Farmhouse in Washington, Utah

Their reception was held at the Staheli Farmhouse in Washington, Utah. Angela had always pictured her reception in a barn. Staheli Farmhouse was the perfect reception location.

The theme for the couple’s reception was influenced by the outdoors. They wanted the reception to reflect their personalities. The bride and groom loved that it was laid back and tons of fun. It was very important to be able to just relax and have the time of their lives. The reception entertainment included dancing to bluegrass and singing songs together on the guitar.

Wedding catering included a delicious Austrian Strudel dessert. They had blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries in the center of each piece of the strudel cake. Guests also enjoyed corn roasted in a fire pit outside the reception.  A cheese wheel, fresh bread, whole fruits, and vegetables, honey baked ham completed the wedding menu. The couple received many compliments about the amazing and unique reception food.

It was a blast!

The thing that made their reception so unique was it was filled with their closest family and friends at the Staheli Farmhouse with animals all around. The reception was outdoors and they watched the beautiful sunset as they enjoyed their wedding. They had a blast!
