“Deserving Couple” Finalists Have Been Selected & Voting Has Begun

Every couple has a story & finding a “Deserving Couple” with All Points Travel has been a fun experience. We enjoyed reading entries & narrowing it down to the final 10. Now we need your help in deciding which lucky couple should win. Voting is easy, all you have to do is select your favorite image on All Points Travel & The Bride and Groom.com’s facebook page (While there be sure to give both pages a like to get all the great wedding tips & ideas & travel updates). The couple with the most votes (likes will be counted between both All Points Travel & The Bride and Groom.com pages) by Tuesday, November 1st at noon wins. The winning couple will win a two night get away including dinner to Canyons Resort in Park City, courtesy of Funjet Vacations. Good luck to our 10 finalists & be sure to vote for your favorite.

Here are the 10 finalists & their stories:

1. Austin & Amanda – We have been married for a year and 4 months. We got married and moved away for work 2 days later. I can’t believe how broke we were! We lived back East in Virginia for work (which didn’t take off and we moved home shortly after) and we could hardly afford a date night. So each weekend we saved up 3 bucks and rode the Ferris Wheel a few times. Turned out to be some of the best date nights we ever had! We never took a big honeymoon due to work and would love a little get away!

2. Kaitlyn & Michael - Date night. Once or twice a month Michael and I go out for a date night. We take turns planning and it turns out great. This night was his turn to plan. The only part of the date I knew was that we were going to Purple Sage Golf Course for dinner. I was excited because this gave me the opportunity to dress up. So I put on my pretty white dress, put my hair up and did make up. He looked very handsome in his black button down shirt. Off to dinner we went. I ordered steak and he ordered chicken. It was pretty good food at a very nice restaurant. After dinner we went to the top of the Bear River Park. We went for a walk up to the old bridge. As we were standing there looking out at the river Michael turned to me, knelt down on one knee and said, ” There is no one else I would rather spend eternity with. Will you marry me? It was beautiful! I couldn’t have imagined it being any better. This is how Michael proposed.
Michael has such a big heart. The reason he chose to propose at the Bear River Park is because one day I was talking to him and mentioned how much I loved the park and how beautiful I thought it was but was sadly disappointed because almost every memory I had there was bad or scary. Michael took it upon himself to give one of my favorite places a better memory for me to remember it by. And that was an amazing memory I will never forget ♥
We deserve this honeymoon because ever since the start of our relationship we have done everything to make it spectacular. We are the best of friends in the best of times and the worst we want our marriage to be successful. I cannot think of a better start than on a splendid get away for two. We look forward to following the voting and wish luck to those participating.

3. Maddie & Jared – He is a Wild Land Fire Fighter and she works as a sales associate for T-mobile.
We live very, very busy lives and with his job, we haven’t been able to enjoy the summer together. He leaves for about two weeks at a time, is home for two days and then gone again for another two weeks. And during those two days, Maddie still has to work and they don’t get much time together.
We have suffered through the summer being able to only spend maybe a total of 4 weeks together since May. Most of the time he hasn’t had service either because he is out in the middle of nowhere fighting fire.
We are fighting to get all of our debts paid off and save up for school and a house within the next year, which unfortunately doesn’t leave much money for anything else. We definitely deserve this trip to be able to just enjoy being together alone (we both still live with our parents). We are getting married in December and are SO excited to finally be able just to be together! We have both had a hard summer being apart and would love the opportunity to just relax and enjoy each others company. We are a fun couple that loves to hike, ski, snowshoe and do lots of outdoor activities together. This would be so perfect for us and we could both use the break!

4. Melissa & Aaron – Aaron and I met at the end of June 2008. We met through mutual friends in Recovery, as we are both active in our Recovery. Our first “date” was 7/4/2008 Aaron took me on a motorcycle ride around the small town we live in. I was a bit scared since I had never been on a “bullet-bike”…somehow I survived! Since the Fourth of July, we have been inseparable!!! Spending many days and evenings doing what we love to do, going to meetings, enjoying our children, playing with our 2 beautiful Grandchildren, going on nice long peaceful drives, or just hanging out on the couch with our 5 cats and 1 dog!

Aaron purposed to me after being together 3 short weeks!!! CRAZY I know…but we both just knew it was right and we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together as man and wife. So, August 1, 2008 we were married in Las Vegas and Honeymooned in Huntington Beach, California. We didn’t have everyone’s support when we first announced our engagement that’s for sure. However, over 3 years later our marriage is stronger than ever, and all of our friends and family give us all their support!!

The first year of our marriage, we celebrated our anniversary on the first of every month!!! Aaron would send me flowers or pick his own and bring them into my job!! Since the beginning of our wonderful relationship neither one of us ever leaves the other without a kiss and an “I Love You”!! Throughout the day there are constant messages to each other expressing our love and our gratitude to the Power that brought us together at the most perfect time in both of our lives! Our love grows to new levels all the time, it’s nothing short of amazing!

5. Missy & Leo - Hey! This is Missy and Leo,
We are a cute, young, funny engaged couple getting married in June. I’m from SLC and he is from Connecticut, we are both in school and working. We met when I moved to Connecticut to be a nanny and quickly became best friends. We have had tons of adventures together, hanging out on the beach till 3 in the morning, making a poorly prepared pumpkin pie, and getting lost in NYC. 7 months later he proposed during a romantic dinner and I said “Of Course!” We love to play video games and go camping and pretty much anything else as long as we are together. Winning this contest would be perfect since we are paying for our own wedding and our families can’t help pay, we have almost no money available for a honeymoon and this contest would be exactly what we need. Our budget for the wedding has been cut and cut again and we are utilizing any family who can help decorate or make cakes or anything else we can get for free. Our plan for a honeymoon is just our wedding night since we cant afford anything else. So please please Vote for us!!! We couldn’t be anymore deserving.

6. Nachelle & Juston – Juston and I have only been together since February but since then we have had to face many challenges! Our most recent one was out of all the hardest and still is a challenge! We have 4 children between the two of us! All ranging from 15 to 1.. Juston works 2 full time jobs while i go to school full time! We never get a chance to go on a date let alone have a night without one or all of our children! And then last week i got a horrible infection in my sinus’s in my eye and that was starting to go into my brain! After almost dying and spending a week in ICU. Juston has gone back to work but still sits up with me all night long to maker sure that i am not going into seizures and that i am breathing! For us to have a little bit of time would be something that we both deserve! Thank you so much!!

7. Nicole & A.J. – A.J. and Myself deserve this awesome vacation because we fight for each other! We are undercover super heroes and are protecting each other everyday! A.J. is the most fantastic man I know. We do every thing together. He fights off all the bad villain’s for me and always keeps me safe. He never leaves my side! My sweetie makes sure nothing will hurt me and always takes the bullet for me. I love him and we would love to get away from fighting crime and spend a nice weekend together. I want to surprise my hero with this vacation!! I hope you pick us. We really deserve it! You may ask if we are gone who will protect you? Well we fight crime on vacation too!! Our love is strong and we are always fighting together. We never give up and we always win! No matter what we wont let you or ourselves down!

8. Paula & Chert - Sitting in a park and reading may not sound that exciting. However, between my busy schedule as a medical student and my fiance’s night job, we’ve learned to find joy in small things. Whether it’s a quick kiss as I arrive home from clinic and he heads to work, or a rare lazy Sunday afternoon in bed, the small things have added up to one big, beautiful love. I can think of no-one more deserving of a break than Chert- he works incredibly hard in order to help put me through school so we can have a brighter future together. With crazy schedules and student debt, it’s no wonder that we never seem to find enough time away from the hubub just for the two of us. And with the wedding coming up, it’s only gotten crazier. I have family coming from Utah, California, Alaska, and New Zealand, while his are heading in from Colorado and Idaho. We hope to make it a perfect day for our guests as well as ourselves. Ultimately, a little time away to cherish each other could help remind us why we signed up for this crazy ride, and why we’re so excited to spend the rest of our lives together!

9. Rebecca & Darrell – It would be amazing to win this contest! My fiance and I have been in a long distance relationship for a year and a half, including time he spent in Afghanistan last year serving our country. Unfortunately circumstances keep us apart and he will be leaving again in 6 months for another deployment to Afghanistan. Our time is limited and we cherish any moments we do have together.

10. Shelly & Amon - My husband (Amon) and I (Shelly) got married this past summer in a beautiful outdoor setting in Heber City. My father passed away a year before we got married and my mother became extremely sick. We did get some help with the wedding costs from our loving parents, but just like many others, money is tight for us all. Currently we both are working like crazy, trying to be a good mom and dad to Amon’s little girl, and getting into the groove of being a family and FINALLY being married! My husband and I didn’t get a chance to go on a honeymoon or “stay-cation” after our wedding and we would LOVE the chance to have a romantic getaway!
