Matthew’s Romantic Wedding Proposal to Lauren

“It started with Matthew telling me we had a wedding reception to go to that night. He said he would come pick me up, but when I got to the door it was his roommate, Justin. Justin took me to a place here in Logan called First Dam. He walked me out to the water and Matthew was there waiting for me with a canoe in the water and fake candles and blankets inside the canoe (It was February!). I put on my life vest, got in the canoe, and we were off! A little while later, Matthew’s friends came out three separate times in their own canoe. The first time to bring us hot chocolate, the second to bring me roses, and the third to bring Matthew a guitar. Then he played our song for me and changed the lyrics a little bit to fit our situation. Then we started heading back to the dock and Matthew started telling me the story of when he knew he wanted to marry me. Then when we got to the dock, it was lined with tiki torches, fake candles, and there were rose petals leading to the end of it. When we got to the end of the dock, the rose petals went into a heart shape and the ring box was sitting in the middle of the heart. Matthew went down on one knee and asked me to marry him. After I said OF COURSE, he stood up and gave me a kiss and his friends shot off fireworks from another dock. It was perfect!”
