Finding the Perfect Wedding Shoes~Tips & Advice

When it comes to shoes for your wedding you just have to have the right pair.  I know it may seem like such a simple accessory but they can make all the difference.  For example take the gorgeous shoes above, the color, the straps, the open toe, love them.  So what look do you want for your wedding shoes?

Classic~ Healed, dressy shoe to match your dress color, typically white or cream colored.  You can also chose between open or closed toe, & pointed toe or round toe.  There are so many variations, styles & types of shoes you have to pick from.

Sandal~Maybe  a simple sandal to show off your pedicure.

Tennis shoe~I know it may seem bizarre but I have seen it & I think it is quite cute if it fits your personality. Remember this is your day, your way & your look.  Don’t do this if it isn’t your style, not every bride can get away with this look.

Boot~ We can’t leave out the boot.  Some brides want a more casual look that you get with a boot, like Tara from a recent featured wedding at wheeler farm.

Color~ Do you want to use your wedding colors and dye your shoes to match?  This is often a great way to add your color scheme in your attire.

Heel~ How high to go on your heel.  Keep in mind you will be on your feet a lot on your big day & you don’t want to be uncomfortable.

Looks~ Don’t trade looks for comfort, go for both girls, you can have it all just keep looking til you find the right pair.

Now you might ask where to find the perfect pair of shoes.  Here is my first suggestion~look where you got your wedding dress. Often times they have the perfect shoes to go with the perfect dress.  This may not be an option for you either you have something specific in mind that they just don’t carry it or you may have found the perfect shoe at another store where you weren’t able to find your dress.

Shopping online for the perfect shoes just might be right for you.  Before you do buy online just be aware that you may have to trade some comfort where you can test out the shoe before hand.  Check with your online store first to see if they have a local store where you are able to try them on or if they have a good return policy if you just can’t bare to wear the hot shoes you purchased.  Make sure you order them in time for shipping & returning if they just don’t work.   Here are a couple of my favorite online wedding shoe stores I found for you bellissimabridalshoes & myglassslipper.  These online stores seem to have a great selection & even had designer shoes at affordable prices.  I hope you are able to find just what you are looking for.

One last tip about your wedding shoes.  Break them in before your big day.  You don’t want to spend your honeymoon with blisters on your feet.  Wear them around the house for a few hours here and there before the wedding so your feet can get used to them.
