Are you looking to decorate & want some great ways to add a splash of color? Tissue pom-pom flowers are a great way to spruce up any wedding. They are easy, inexpensive & lots of fun and you can make them with different colors or stick with just one.
What You Will Need:
1. 20” x 30” sheets of tissue (8 sheets per pom-pom)
-Or smaller if you wish to make smaller pom-poms, use smaller sheets.
2. Cloth-covered floral wire
3. Scissors
Instructions:
1. Stack 8 sheets of tissue together. You can choose to use all of the same color tissue per pom-pom or use some complimentary shades.
2. Make 1-2” wide accordion folds, making sure to crease your folds.
3. Cut an 18” piece of floral wire and fold it in half. Slip this over the center of your accordion tissue stack; twist.
4. Using your scissors, cut the edges of your tissue into rounded or pointed shapes, depending on how you want your pom-pom to look.
5. Separate your folded layers, pulling them away from the center one at a time all the way around, to give your pom-pom the rounded look.
6. If you wish to hang your creations, simply tie a piece of fishing wire or other type of mono-filament to your floral wire.
7. Voila! An amazingly cute and inexpensive decoration for your reception!
Hint:
-Try various sizes and colors for your pom-poms to see what you like best
-You can order tissue in bulk online for an even bigger discount!
-Experiment with hanging twinkle lights with your pom-poms to give them an extra sparkle!
