Celebrities are always in the news, and when our favorite star gets married, we flock to the newsstands and internet sites where we can see all of the pictures. After all, celebrities know what’s in.

Hot Trend: Multiple color palettes

For the bride who cannot decide between two very appealing color schemes, incorporating this trend into the wedding day could be the perfect answer. For the ceremony choose one set of colors, such as warm fuschia, blush and deep red, like singer Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman did for their traditional Jewish wedding. Then, for the reception use a completely different color feel: Aguilera and Bratman chose cool ivory, cream, white and blues with silver accents. When mixing color palettes, be sure to include one mainstay color, something to tie them all together. Aguilera had hot pink running throughout both palettes, in the flowers, on the cake and on the tables.

Hot Trend: Outdoor weddings

Having your wedding in your backyard or even a local vineyard has always been a trend with celebrities. Brides can take a cue from nature and include the outdoors in their wedding. A bridal bouquet with wild flowers, pastels for bridesmaids and groomsmen and classic décor inspired by their surroundings were the choice for Jenna Bush and Henry Hager. The President’s daughter married in an outdoor ceremony with a (rather classic) reception afterwards in a large tent, open to let the Texas air in. You don’t need a family ranch to host an outdoor wedding; your backyard or a lovely park will be just as inspirational.

Hot Trend: Personalized favors

Send your guests away with more than memories of a fun evening; give them personalized wedding favors. The standard wedding favor is usually something edible or silver, but making your favor personal will really show your style. For example, Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley gave their guests wedding themed guitar picks with their initials and “Deryek picked Avril” or “Avril picked Deryek” written on them. Liza Minnelli and David Gest had personalized favors in satin candy boxes embossed with “Liza and David 4 Ever.”

Hot Trend: One gown is not enough

Have your eye on two different gowns? You can wear both like Christina Aguilera did; she wore a fairy-tale gown for the wedding ceremony then switched to a chic mini for the reception. Wear your dream dress to the wedding ceremony and after pictures, switch into a more comfortable gown for the reception. You’ll have more freedom to dance, mingle and stay cool during hot months. Keeping both gowns white will maintain the feel of your wedding without reducing the affair to just another party. If switching gowns halfway through the event is impossible, switch your accessories, hair or make up.

Hot Trend: Versatile bridesmaid dresses

This is what Eva Longoria did when she married Tony Parker. She chose a fiery red and her bridesmaids each wore a different style in that color. This was also Britney Spears’s choice; she chose burgundy red gowns in slightly different styles so her bridesmaids would be comfortable and confident.

Which ever trends you pick, remember that you don’t have to be a celebrity to have a celebrity wedding.
