A sandy beach, the sound of waves, the smell of fresh air and a gentle breeze blowing through your hair. Beaches can be one of the most romantic settings for a wedding. Here are a few tips to planning the perfect beach wedding.
The Basics
Check weather climates for the date you want to get married on. You don’t want your wedding during hurricane season! When you decide on your beach wedding location, check whether it is a public or private beach. There may be limitations for either when holding weddings and receptions Be sure to ask your city county clerk if there are any permits needed for your wedding and apply for them at least a few months ahead of time.
The Location decor
Always physically check the location you wish to have your wedding at. Beach Sand is very different from one place to the next. Sitting chairs directly on the sand is not a good idea, because they could eventually start to sink. Consider renting special flooring to place the chairs on. Also consider renting a few canopies to shelter any wind hazards that may come up suddenly. Have umbrellas on hand in case of rain, and a small medical first aid kit as well.
The Food
Because your wedding is going to be on a beach, you may not have room for tables. Finger foods are a great choice since they are small and can be easily handled with out the need of tables. Shrimp, fish kabobs, and clams are just a few ideas for main course items. Keep your wedding cake simple, with a cupcake wedding cake. Great dessert items would be a chocolate fountain. Guests can easily dip and eat from them.
The Music
Make sure to find a DJ that specializes in outdoor weddings. They have systems designed to work outdoors and provide the correct amount of sound. Many beaches have a sound loudness limitations and you do not want to get fined for your music being too loud. A good DJ will be able to provide a worry free outdoor music experience.
These are just a few tips to planing the perfect wedding. And always remember to have fun, and always ask for help. You will be surprised how people will be glad help.
