Sentimental Dress Created out of Grandmother’s Wedding Dress

If you haven’t seen the amazing talent from Modest Couture then let me tell you about this incredible new creation that Betsy at Modest Couture put together for this beautiful California bride Elicia.  Elicia is from Rancho Cordova, California just outside of Sacramento & she had her grandmothers 50 year old wedding dress & wanted to have Betsy create her a new-retro wedding dress.  WOW!! Is all I can say.  That takes talent & Betsy has it!!

Elicia flew into Utah for fittings. And Betsy carefully took her grandmothers wedding dress apart.  Betsy paired the real vintage dress fabric with new ivory taffeta & heavy embellished lace to create the new gown.  Elicia wanted her grandmothers lace on the entire bodice and as a special bustle in the back.  Betsy used the buttons from her grandmothers dress as well.  The back of the bodice is open with the lace completely surrounding it. How amazing is Betsy!!  All I can say is  AWESOME!  I love to hear how our amazingly talented vendors are able to share their talents not only with our local brides in Utah but all over the United States.  We have amazingly talented vendors for sure.

Betsy told us that she is currently making gowns for girls in Arizona, California, New York & of course Utah.  She not only can re-fashion old dresses into completely new ones but also offers completely custom original gowns.  Betsy is the best of both worlds.  Be sure to check out Modest Couture on our website The Bride and Groom.com.
