Tips & Ideas for Bridal & Engagement Shoots

Getting the most out of your photo shoots just takes a little planning. Deciding where you want to go & what extras you want to have in your photo shoot takes a little thought & planning. Here are a couple ideas when planning your bridal shoots.

1. Theme~Do you have a theme you want to base the shoot around. Many brides are now coming up with fun ideas & basing those ideas around their favorite movie, holiday or just a new fun idea. It could be a Valentines Day Shoot like the one we posted not to long ago here. Or it could be a themed shoot like the one we posted about the Disney movie “Up” here. The possibilities are endless. Be sure to talk with your photographer & let them know you want to be creative & they may even have some fun ideas to help you expand your own ideas. This is a great place to use your Wedding Planner as well as many coordinators can help get the little details in place for you.

2. Props & Extras~Props & extras are always fun to have at shoots. Plan a head & think about what it is you want to remember most. If you haven’t thought about hiring a wedding designer or coordinator this is perfect place to do so. Wedding designers have incredible visions that most of us just don’t see. Adding a vintage car, fun cute signs or just being creative will really make a difference in making your images unique & all about YOU!!. Think outside of the box & make sure you hire a photographer that loves your creative side.

3. What to wear~ If you have a theme coordinate your outfit around your theme. Bringing a couple different outfit changes for your engagement shoot is always a fun option. It isn’t just for engagement shoots but the tips are great non the less & we think it may help our engaged couples when trying to decide what to wear.

4. Location~ There are so many places you can choose to get amazing photo’s taken. Some of my favorite are: The Salt Flats, Downtown Salt Lake & La Caille. When thinking of your location, check with your photographer for his or her advice. Photographers have incredible vision & know the best locations for shoots. 5. HAVE FUN!! Don’t stress. This is supposed to be your happiest & most memorable time. Enjoy these moments & get a photographer you LOVE & that helps you capture these special moments forever.
