Photography by~Robert Dyer Photography
Lauren & Matthew were married June 4th, 2011 at the beautiful Salt Lake Temple. They had their reception at This Is The Place Heritage Park at the Brigham Young Farmhouse. You may recall this adorable couple as we featured their fantastic proposal previously on our blog. To read their proposal story click HERE.
We asked a little bit about their love story & this is what Lauren shared with us: “The night Matthew had planned out perfectly & romantically to tell me he loved me was the same night I thought he was going to break up with me! Guys: Just some advice, saying ‘lets go on a drive & chat’ does not sit well with girls” I love this. Thanks for the great tip Lauren.
What Matthew likes most about Lauren~ “She is one of the most loving & caring people I’ve ever met. She isn’t afraid to be herself & stand behind her values when the situation arises. Lauren is always happy & excited about life while note letting the little things bring her down. Plus she’s a 6 foot tall, attractive, blonde, soccer player, need I say more?”
What Lauren likes most about Matthew~ “Well… for starters, he’s actually taller than me!
But honestly, he is so funny & fun-loving. I am constantly laughing when I’m with him. He is also very selfless and willing to help anyone. We have a lot of fun together, and I might as well have fun for the rest of my life!”
Big plans after their wedding~ “We will be living in Logan finishing up our schooling at Utah State University. We will both be graduating in the spring. Matthew will graduate in exercise science & apply for medical school next summer. I will graduate in Human Resource Management.”
Honeymoon~ 7 day Mexican Riviera Cruise
About their wedding~
Wedding Colors~Pink, black & yellow
What do you remember most~ “I remember being ready before him! I also remember how absolutely perfect it was. The weather, the setting, the company, etc.. Everything was perfect. Of course you never forget that feeling too!”
Is there anything you would do differently~ “Definitely be on time for your luncheon. We took so many pictures at the temple we were about an hour late to our luncheon… oops!”
Photography~Robert Dyer Photography “We have worked with Robert for years and he is fabulous! He is really good at setting up the perfect shots. I loved how he could bring out our personalities in the photos, but they were still professional.”
Flowers~Cindy from Sunshine Creations Floral in South Jordan. “I loved my flowers, they were one of my favorite things. Cindy was so easy to work with & she did everything I asked.” If you notice Lauren’s beautiful wedding bouquet she has a fabulous momentum to treasure. That was a gift from a good friend & those can purchased HERE. What a cute idea.
Hair & Make up~ Amanda from Hair Elegance in South Jordan. Suggestion from the bride: “Unless you absolutely don’t trust anyone, let someone else do it. I loved being able to sit back & relax the day of! Also, practice a couple of times to be sure it’s just right.”
Wedding Cake~ Granite Bakery “It looked beautiful & tasted even better! All of it was completely gone!”
Catering~ Isabella’s Catering “Since our wedding was in the summer, we chose to do cold fold over hot food. So we did wraps, and fruits & veggies. We were also really excited about our cake so it was the only desert we served.
Wedding Dress~Fairy Godmother’s Bridal. “I found them online and really liked a couple of their dresses. We went into the store & I tried on one of my favorites. I loved it! I said it was ‘my dress’ and we got ready to buy it. They said they had just one more dress they wanted me to try on. I gave in and tried it on. I was won over the second we zipped it up. It fit perfectly! I loved it & we didn’t have to alter it one bit. Advice: try on as many dresses as you can, you only make that purchase once!”
Rings~Hers~The Shane Co. His~Fred Meyer Jewelers
Tux~Fifth Avenue Tuxedos in Bountiful
Shoes~Online at Endless.com “I found so many I wanted!” What girl doesn’t LOVE shoes!!!

Advice from the Bride~ “Pay attention to the small details before, but on the day of, don’t sweat the small stuff. Relax & enjoy every minute of that fabulous day!”
