The Art of Wedding Photography~Keep Your Wedding Memories Alive

In the digital age we live in, we have been blessed with some great advances in technology. Gone are the days when families would drop off the film from the recent family vacation at the local photo vendor, waiting with anticipation and fingers crossed to see how many (if any) of the treasured clicks turned out. Now we have 5-second preview windows, digital trash cans, and magical digital erasers to make sure that we only keep the pictures we want, looking how we want them. Photos can be shared instantly via Facebook, Twitter, and Email. Thousands of images are now stored on micrometers of silicon. In fact, so many images can run across our eyes in one day, it’s almost as if the film of life is now playing on a computer screen near you.

But what many have forgotten is the reality of the old experience – There is a difference between seeing an image of a Van Gogh, and owning a Van Gogh. As any museum-goer can attest, the real work of art has a life and a feeling to it that the dead reproduction can’t match. Great photography deserves great display. To be hidden in between the e-jumble of fiber-optic cable and swallowed in the saline sea of binary code, makes the whole artistic journey barren and trivial. This is most definitely true of wedding photography. Wedding photos are some of the most emotional, dramatic, and lasting images we as society produce. Why put them down with the worn out, commonplace, lifeless images of every other day?
So when making a decision on photography for your wedding, keep in mind that it is important to choose an artist, and not just someone who takes pictures. An artist knows the latest printing options, from Aluminum Prints to Styrene-backed-paper, as well as photo finishes like metallic or Fuji pearl. And of course they know how to custom design the highest quality albums to make priceless family heirlooms that will last the rest of your life. When you choose an artist, you choose so much more than just someone to point and click, you choose to keep your memories alive.
