MORE ABOUT LA CAILLE – From Their Website
La Caille is an echo of the peerless style of 18th century rural France. From the chateau gates with leaves weighing over four tons each to the painted glass ceiling in the lounge, La Caille is a place of idealized beauty, peacefulness and inspiration.
Situated on 20 acres in the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon, the immaculate gardens afford a few moments of privacy on a leisurely stroll through the hundreds of flowers, tropical and trees. Walking through the vineyard after dusk toward the glowing chateau, one can almost hear the vines and leaves emitting Mozart’s entrancing sound.
The music continues as one roams through the “auberge,” witness to the astounding beauty of impressive antiques housed within it’s embrace. The large armoire that welcomes each guest was once part of a noble Frenchwoman’s dowry and dates from the early 18th century. Original tapestries line the curving stairway, while our pet walrus “Fang” watches over the lobby fireplace. It is rumored that touching his ivory tusks lightly brings good health and great wealth. C’est Vrai!
As Saint-Saens wrote about animals in his symphonies, La Caille brings art to life. Our grounds are home to an array of natural wild life including deer, rabbits, geese, and of course the signature peacocks, which parade past as you, make the last curve of the tree-lined brick drive.
Presenting dinner seven days a week as well as Sunday Brunch – be sure to enjoy every aspect of La Caille. From the romantic cottage to an afternoon inspired by the beauty of our swans gliding with simple elegance across one of our four beautiful ponds, nature and its authenticity are extensively free and unburdened here.
