Zach & Kelsey’s Love Story~Utah Featured Wedding
Photography by: Robert Dyer Photography
How they met~Zach & Kelsey’s love story began when they finally got the courage to introduce themselves to each other at a BYU- Hawaii school dance. Zach had seen Kelsey two months earlier & really wanted to get to know her then but he was too nervous to introduce himself. Kelsey finally got up the nerve to introduce herself to Zach at the dance & Zach told her that he already knew who she was & he was just waiting for her to notice him. They both caught each others eyes from the beginning & now they captured each others hearts. So their love story begins.
Engagement~ It was Zach’s birthday & Kelsey had planned out the whole day with fun activities. At night they went to dinner at Asian Star (might I add- YUMMMY) & the waiter was supposed to bring out a cake that said “Happy Birthday Zach” on it. Instead he brought a cake with a ring drawn out of frosting that said, “Oct. 8th?” Kelsey thought they brought out the wrong cake until Zach got down on one knee & Kelsey’s family appeared & started taking pictures.
What Kelsey likes most about Zach~ “He has a good heart. He is always open & doesn’t hesitate when it comes to telling me how much he loves me & how important I am to him. He always makes sure that I’m happy & he can’t wait to take care of me & our future family together.”
What Zach likes most about Kelsey~ “Her caring heart. She is always worrying about other people, especially me. She makes sure that I am happy & taken care of before worrying about herself.”
Wedding Date~ October 8, 2010
Most memorable part of the wedding~ “Our reception. It was so beautiful & we wanted to bring a taste of Hawaii to Utah. It turned out fantastic. The music was amazing, the food was great, the flowers were beautiful, and we had so much fun.”
Wedding Colors~ Coral, Black & White
Ceremony Location~ Bountiful, Utah Temple
Reception Location~ Highland Gardens Reception Center
Photography~ Kelsey said “Robert Dyer Photography was my photographer. I would recommend him to anyone. His pictures turn out beautiful & he finds the best scenery & poses to get the most flattering pictures. His pictures are works of art & are so great to look back on the posed pictures & the candid shots to remember your special day. He makes you feel comfortable & jokes around with you to help you relax. He is very easy to work with.”
Flowers~ The flowers were shipped over from Hawaii & Zach’s Mom put together the arrangements & Kelsey’s bouquet.
Hair~ Amanda from Hair Elegance in South Jordan did Kelsey’s hair. Tip from the Bride “Don’t stress out too much about your hair, you are going to look beautiful & just do it how you want to do it. If you’re going to worry about it falling flat if you wear it down, then wear it up. You don’t want to be worrying about your hair all day.”
Cake~ Granite Bridal made their cake. They were easy to work with & Kelsey was able to explain her vision & they did it perfectly. Kelsey said “Not only was it beautiful, it was delicious.”
Catering~ Isabella’s Catering created the perfect taste from the Hawaiian Islands. They had rolls, fruit, chicken skewer’s, & juice & they made Zach & Kelsey’s taste buds remember Hawaii.
Dress~ Kelsey found her dress at Allyses Bridal. She had an idea of the kind of dress she wanted but tried on a couple & didn’t like the way they fit. Her sister in-law suggested the style that was fitted down to her hips & the associate at Alyssa’s Bridal knew just which one would be perfect. It was a hit.
Rings~The Shane Co.
Tux~Clark’s Tuxedo’s
Shoes~Zappos.com
Entertainment~Kekau Arakaki
Invitations~Polka Dots & Daises
Advice from the bride~ “Have fun with it! You’re planning a day that’s going to be all about you. I know it can be really stressful but try & enjoy it & remember that anxious, excited, counting down the days feeling you have the whole time.
