Wedding Cake, Chocolate Fountain & Tuxedo’s Oh My~Congratulations Ami & Greg

Sugar Kisses Cakes by Design -Turia Larsen will be designing our wedding cake. What a treat! I found a picture of a cake online that I absolutely fell in love with.  I just had to have it!  I showed it to Turia in hopes she could design this beautiful cake. In an instant she said of course. That’s a piece of cake! She then pulled out her color pencils and started sketching. She is quite the artist I must say. Turia drew a 3 tier cake with flower inserted tiers. Then she also drew a 4 tier cake without flower inserted tiers. This was nice, because it gave me options. I had a cake with flowers and one without. This way I could price out the cost of flowers to help me decide what would best fit into our budget.

Next, we started designing the details of the cake. I wanted it to go with the theme of the wedding, French Couture. We decided to have the cake be a champagne, Ivory color, with the design of each tier bring similar to the others. We decided to use frosting that looks like pearl beading for the outline of each tiers base. We then added ribbon to the top and bottom tiers and sprayed the cake with satin glaze to make it shine!
Now let’s talk about flavors, Yum! Usually wedding cakes aren’t so tasty. Well not Sugar Kisses Cakes by Design! We had a taste testing and I was amazed. It was honestly the best cake I have ever tasted. All her cakes are made from scratch, and are delectable. Chocolate lemon, raspberry, vanilla, spice, lime, strawberry, pumpkin; she had so many flavors to choose from, it was difficult to decide.  You name it she can make it! We decided on a white chocolate ganache, chocolate truffle, and pumpkin chocolate chip. She is also making a red velvet, steel head salmon grooms cake for Greg. I can’t wait to see it! Turia has been amazing to work with.  I can’t wait to see our beautiful cake, better yet to eat it! It’s going to be delicious!

Now for tuxedos, where should we go? Will they have all the sizes we need? Do they have our wedding colors? Tuxedos by Lee is the answer to our questions!  With the wide selection of styles, sizes and colors, Greg and I were able to choose tuxedos for all of the men in the wedding party and we were able to color coordinate everyone’s tuxedos so that everything matched.

I never knew there were so many different options when choosing a Tuxedo. First we had to decide what kind of tuxedo,then we selected a vest.  Next we had to choose whether we wanted a tie or a bow tie, a regular shirt or a tuxedo shirt. Lastly we decided on a style of shoes for everyone to wear.

We ended up with the fathers in a double breasted tuxedo with a champagne vest and bow tie. The groomsmen are in a tailed tuxedo with pink vests and bow ties, the ring bearers are in a tailed tuxedo with a champagne vest and bow tie.

I would highly recommend Tuxedos by Lee. They were great to work with, so kind and easy going! They also had everything that we wanted. Our tuxedos will be ready for us to pick up the day before the wedding and we will drop them off the day after. I absolutely love what we picked out. The men in the wedding party will be looking sharp!
