HOW TO HAVE A FUN AND FABULOUS FIRST DANCE!

By Margene Anderson Owner of A Dance Scene (A Sponsor of the 2011 $100k Dream Wedding Giveaway)

Your wedding day is fast approaching! There’s so much to do, and you want everything to be perfect. One of the most forgotten wedding planning details is the first dance, which symbolizes the start of your new life together. Will you glide gracefully together around the dance floor or will you do the so high school “sway”?

Learning to dance is a great way to spend time together, relieve stress, and learn new things about your future spouse. Dancing requires teamwork and cooperation, give and take–just like marriage does.

Invest some time in dance lessons for a fun and fabulous first dance and hit the dance floor in style. Not only will you look great when all eyes are on you, you’ll be ready to dance at upcoming weddings, parties, and social events. Dancing is a fun, healthy, and romantic hobby that you can do together for the rest of your lives.

Two left feet? No experience? No worry! You’ll learn the secrets of dancing success with Margene Anderson’s 25+ years of professional training and teaching experience. She’ll help you with simple yet stylish choreography so you feel comfortable and confident on the dance floor as you wow your guests with your new dancing skills. She’s helped many nervous bridal couples just like you.

Here are some tips to get you started:

    1. Plan to start your dance lessons 3-6 months prior to the wedding to avoid stress with all the last-minute details. If your wedding is only a few weeks away, there’s still time to learn some fun, easy moves.

    2. Decide whether group or private lessons work best for your schedules. Many bridal couples do group classes to learn the basics then add a few private lessons to add additional patterns, plus an entrance and exit to their special song. Other couples do private lessons due to scheduling or preference.

    3. Choose your special song. Keep in mind, some songs are easier to dance to than others, so it’s helpful to have a couple of alternates just in case.

    4. Call to set up lesson times. Once you start your lessons, plan time to practice so you can fine tune your skills.

    5. On your wedding day, relax, smile, and have fun. Make your first dance a special moment to remember as you start your new life together.

No more high school “sway”! Plan now for a fun and fabulous first dance and a lifetime of fun and romance!
