The idea behind this Valentine’s Shoot was to mix a very traditional holiday with rustic and vintage details.  When deciding the colors for the shoot I was torn between going the traditional route or pick something out of the norm.   As I was poring over colors schemes it hit me, mix and match!  So the idea came; traditional color of red, pink and white with a touch of unique with Caribbean blue and gray.  Once the colors came to form choosing the right details fell into place.  Or I should say me surfing through KSL.com one day during lunch landed me upon milk glass containers; an antique buffet and a rustic farm table sealing the deal!

The buffet I left bare of fabric and I used different height milk glass containers with white plates to display éclairs, French macaroons, and strawberry shortcake instead of a traditional wedding cake.   Accents included Caribbean blue bird cages and white ceramic birds.   I loved the XOXO wood blocks to round out the holiday feel.

The Sweetheart Table started with the rustic farm table (I adore this table!!!).  I love rustic/vintage details so I used different sized milk glass containers with fluffy white hydrangea, ruffled light pink ranunculus and silver dusty miller.  I kept the dishes clean and modern with plain white dishes and silver utensils.  I accented with a Valentine and bright red napkin.  Don’t you love the Mr. & Mrs. Signs on the chairs!?!

I love bouquets and wanted two options; modern and rustic.  The modern bouquet featured a waterfall cascade of bear grass and tulips accented with blue beads and silver wiring.  Notice the wire color and beaded handle, so modern and chic.  The rustic bouquet featured red protea, red James Storie orchids, light pink ranunculus, white hydrangea, dusty miller, and Queen Anne’s lace.  I finished this bouquet off with a raffia bow.  This bouquet turned out so romantic and rustic I was in love!!!
